Boost Your Natural Immunity With These DIY Homemade Beverages

It is ideal that pandemic or no pandemic, our internal health and immunity system stay at the top of our priorities. Although many of us are guilty of the opposite, in the current pandemic-infested world, taking care of our health should be paramount- no excuses. If that means exercising every day, eating healthy, and going that extra mile to prepare some health-boosting food and beverages (a bit difficult, we know!) now is the time we should develop these habits.
On that note, here’s a list of beverages you can easily whip up at home with ingredients that are high on immunity-boosting properties. In no way are we claiming these will keep you immune from the coronavirus or cure it, but we are sure, with consistent consumption, (emphasis on consistent!) they will strengthen your systems in the long run. Not to mention, a lot of these ingredients are great for skin health too!
1. Ginger turmeric honey tea
It’s best to have this right after you wake up. Boil a few pieces of ginger and some grated pieces of turmeric in some water (if you don’t have turmeric root at home, some powder will also work). Keep it on the stove for around 5 minutes, add a spoon of honey and drink when it cools down a bit. Along with the many benefits of drinking warm water in the morning, ginger is rich in antioxidants and turmeric is loaded with nutritious curcumin- both extremely beneficial to your immunity system. Add to that the antibacterial and antifungal properties of honey, and you know your body is being taken care of!

2. Citrus punch
Citrus fruits like oranges, limes and grapefruit are loaded with vitamin C. And vitamin C is loaded with the power to support the cellular immunity response! Pour some fruit pulp into a blender and mix all the aforementioned fruits together. If the punch is too sour, add a teensy bit of sugar to balance it out!
Alternatively, if the punch is too strong for your taste, you can also purchase this awesome detox bottle from House of Sasha that lets you infuse fruits and herbs into your drinking water. Think of it like normal drinking water, but more nutritious. Add citrus fruits, mint, coriander, gooseberries, anything!
3. Amla-pudina shot
Amla, or gooseberry, is an excellent source of vitamin C, and thus is great at enhancing not just immunity but also metabolism and detoxification. On the other hand, pudina, or mint, is great at relieving indigestion and is rich in vitamin A and iron. Juice the amla and add the mint leaves, and you’re good to go!

All the ingredients in this mixture are loaded with vitamin C, along with many other potent nutrients like vitamins A and K, making them ideal for boosting your internal health.
