No one said work from home and online classes are easy. Surely it’s more casual and lets you wake up just at the nick of time but the pleasure of finally going offline is just as much as coming back home after a long day. At a time when staying at home is the best thing we could do, these TV shows in Amazon PrimeVideo could just be your best post-work or weekend companions.
1. The Family Man
Think spy show, but with a desi comic twist. The Family Man by creators Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. stars the endearing Manoj Bajpayee and Priyamani and tells us the story of a middle-class man secretly working as an intelligence officer for the T.A.S.C, a fictitious branch of the National Investigation Agency. With light-hearted subplots ranging from illicit affairs to humourous father-daughter quips, the story brilliantly takes on pertinent topics like Kashmir and ISIS terrorism and crafts a gripping narrative that not only keeps us at the edge of our seats but also gives us an insider’s sneak peek into the world of intelligence agencies.
2. Modern Love
Amazon’s eight-part anthology series is in fact, an adaptation of the eponymous New York Times column, Modern Love, which depicts stirring, real-life love stories of New Yorkers. The cast will certainly leave you starry-eyed- the likes of Anne Hathaway, Sofia Boutella, John Slattery, and Dev Patel no less. Each episode is an independent story unto itself and is undoubtedly capable of moving you to tears with the reliability of it all.

3. The Romanoffs
Do you know who the Romanoffs/Romanovs are, historically? The Romanov family was the last dynasty to rule Russia from 1613 until, in July of 1918, the entire family was executed, spinning off the myth that the Tsar and Tsarina’s daughter Anastasia survived the attack. However, Matthew Weiner’s show is an imagination of the various lives and lifestyles of modern-day Romanoff-Romanov descendants. Each episode has an entirely different story, backdrop, and cast, and while some stories are more on the slower side, others are jaw-droppingly gripping!
Two words- comedy galore! Comicstaan does not host one, but seven aspiring comedians, in a competitive quest for India’s next big comic sensation! Therefore, regardless of who wins, you are assured of two riotous seasons full of ample jokes and laughter!
5. Making The Cut
Making The Cut is where Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn host 12 aspiring fashion designers who face challenging tests of their skills and grit. A lot like the award-winning Project Runway (with the same hosts, in fact!), but hosted in a glitzy Paris and Tokyo landscape. And since it spins off in a reality TV format, you know there’ll be ample drama for you to get addicted to!
